XYZ Films Nabs Iranian Drama ‘Tatami’ ‘Golda’ Director Guy Nattiv Zar Amir Ebrahimi –

The groundbreaking Iranian drama, Tatami, co-directed by Oscar winner Guy Nattiv and Cannes best actress winner Zar Amir Ebrahimi, has been picked up by XYZ Films for North America. The Farsi-language drama is based on real-life stories and follows Iranian female judo athlete Leila, played by Arienne Mandi, as she faces an ultimatum from the Islamic Republic during a world championship. The film is notable for being the first feature to have Iranian and Israeli filmmakers as co-directors. Tatami is produced by veteran producer Mandy Tagger Brockey and Adi Ezroni, alongside Nattiv and Jaime Ray Newman from New Native Pictures. The distribution deal was done by WestEnd Films and Range, with the rights deal negotiated by XYZ Films.
